Ignacio EstayForno, 18, Science and Math Academy

Hi my name Ignacio EstayForno and I am 18 years old. I am in 12th grade at the Science and Mathematics Academy at Aberdeen High School. I originally became involved in robotics through the FIRST Robotics team (FRC-1980) hosted at Aberdeen High School in my freshman year.  After my sophomore year, the robotics team at that school shut down and I tried looking for alternatives, but nothing could really come close to the FRC experience for me. I ultimately found Techbrick robotics, and their FRC team, 3941.  I joined right before the 2013 season and had a blast.  Some of my other hobbies include powerkiting, unicycling, and hosting LAN parties with friends. Techbrick has had a substantial impact on my life, and really has helped me “make it happen” in more ways than one.  Not only has it taught me leadership, but it’s also taught me many different ways of approaching engineering problems to come up with exceptional solutions.  I have no doubt that my involvement in Techbrick also helped me acquire the skills to apply confidently to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and be accepted into the class of 2018
